Now that I’m semi retired I feel ready to look back and have a laugh– or just finally be able openly bitch about my life in dentistry. So here’s my confession: I am a dentist who really loved being a dentist. A few months ago I came across a funny post titled, “10 Reasons I Hate The Dentist.“ It appeared right out of nowhere at just the right time.. It inspired me to write this, so, kudos to RedHead Chronicles, thank you for the inspiration.
10 Reasons Your Dentist Probably Hates You Too
Dental Implant Complications Caused by Smoking
The dental implant patient can develop a condition called peri-implantitis, which is the development of deep tissue pockets with inflammation around the dental implant. Smokers undergoing dental implant treatment are more susceptible to this condition.
Peri-implantitis causes increased loss of peri-implant bone and ultimately leads to implant failure. Various dental research studies have also established a connection between dental implant failure and smoking. However, if remedial action is taken on time, complications need not lead to dental implant failure.
Porcelain Veneers for Beautiful Teeth
Cosmetic dentistry has done a lot of good for many whose self-confidence is dampened by poor or defective teeth. These days when connections with people are essential for most any type of livelihood, the pressure to always make a good impression is great. If you want to rid those insecurities, porcelain veneers may be your answer.
What Are Porcelain Veneers For?
Porcelain veneers almost has the same light reflecting characteristics as a real tooth which makes it an excellent material for gaps. Cosmetic dentistry using porcelain veneers conceals these distracting defects and what you get is a beautiful smile you won’t have any problem flashing.
